About Grace Community Baptist Church

Our Direction
Glorifying God by growing and going into the world
in service, fellowship and love.

In the fall of 2005 Lynn Acres Baptist Church and Yorktown Baptist Church merged together to become Grace Community Baptist Church.

Our desire is to share the love of Christ with our community and around the world, while meeting the spiritual needs of individuals. If you are seeking a place to worship, our doors are always open to you. We think you will find our church to be a place where God is glorified, the Bible is taught, and people enjoy spending time together as a church family.

We are a Baptist Church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Kentucky Baptist Convention and the Louisville Regional Baptist Association (formerly Long Run Baptist Association, Inc.).

What We Believe

The Bible
We believe that the Bible was written by men inspired by God and is a perfect treasure of instruction. God is its author, its main goal is to show us how we can have salvation, and it is true without any error.

We believe that there is one true and living God, the maker and ruler of the universe. God has revealed Himself to us in a personal way through the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that all people are in need of salvation, because we have all sinned. We believe that salvation cannot be earned, but that it is a free gift from God. We receive the gift of salvation and eternal life by putting our faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins on the cross, and was raised from the dead three days later.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

A. Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God's grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.

Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Saviour.

B. Justification is God's gracious and full acquittal upon principles of His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Justification brings the believer unto a relationship of peace and favor with God.

C. Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the believer is set apart to God's purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him. Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerate person's life.

D. Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.
